WedlySite is a South African wedding website and digital invitation studio operated by Juan Theron and Emma ("WedlySite", "we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it.

By submitting an enquiry form — whether through our website or via a Meta (Facebook/Instagram) lead advertisement — you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it. This includes:

Your email address
Your phone number (including WhatsApp contact)
Information you provide about your wedding — such as your wedding date, venue, guest count, and package preference
Any messages or details you share with us directly

When you submit a lead form via a Meta advertisement, Meta Platforms pre-populates certain fields (name, email, phone) from your Facebook or Instagram profile. This is handled by Meta in accordance with their own privacy policy.

2. How we use your information

We use your personal information solely to:

Respond to your enquiry about our services
Provide you with a quote or package recommendation
Deliver the wedding website and/or digital invitation services you have engaged us for
Communicate with you throughout the build process via WhatsApp or email
Send occasional follow-up messages if your enquiry did not result in a booking

We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing beyond reasonable follow-up on your own enquiry.

3. Who we share your information with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your information may be processed by the following platforms as part of our normal operations:

Meta Platforms (Facebook/Instagram) — as the platform through which lead forms are submitted
WhatsApp — as our primary communication channel for client enquiries and project updates
Google Workspace / email — for internal record keeping

Each of these platforms operates under their own privacy policies and data protection obligations.

4. How long we keep your information

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected — typically for the duration of your project plus a reasonable period thereafter, or up to 12 months from your last interaction with us if no project was concluded.

You may request deletion of your information at any time (see Section 6).

5. How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Access to client information is limited to the two members of the WedlySite team (Juan and Emma) who require it to deliver our services.

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), South African residents have the right to:

Know what personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
Request deletion of your personal information
Object to the processing of your personal information
Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

7. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated data about page visits (such as page views and general geographic region). This data cannot be used to identify you personally. No personal information is collected through analytics.
